Boost ETP signs up new authorised participant
Thursday 07th March '13
Virtu is a leading electronic trading firm and market maker on numerous exchanges and electronic marketplaces globally in equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities. The list of Boost APs, all of which are world class ETF Market Makers (MMs), has now increased to five.
Mid-December 2012 saw Boost list a platform of 3x long and 3x short ETPs, 10 ETPs and 10 Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs) on the London Stock Exchange, the first of its kind in Europe.
Boost ETP currently works with more than 17 MMs and investment banks. Boost operates an open and competitive market making model which promotes deeper liquidity across its range of ETPs; this is in contrast to the single AP model adopted by many of Boost’s competitors, which means investors benefit from greater liquidity and tighter pricing through an open model.
Hector McNeil, Co-CEO of Boost ETP said: “Boost is very happy to welcome Virtu to the growing list of official Boost Authorised Participants. Virtu is a specialist in ETF market making and will add significant liquidity to Boost’s ETP platform. Boost operates an open, competitive market making model which we believe offers the investor the deepest liquidity, unlike the model adopted by many of our competitors.”
