WisdomTree has planted
10,000 trees in 2022
At WisdomTree, we recognise the importance of protecting the environment. We are proud to be a certified carbon neutral organisation and believe that we all have a responsibility to make positive changes to help reduce our climate impact and raise awareness.
To this end, we are delighted to have worked with Ripple Africa to plant 10,000 trees in 2022. Ripple Africa is an organisation that has been empowering communities in Malawi since 2003. Working with local farmers and communities, to date they have planted 19 million trees and protected 340 square kilometres of indigenous forest
WisdomTree contributed to the following two projects:
Fruit Tree Planting
Farmers grow mango, papaya, guava, avocado and citrus fruit trees to provide food and income to local families. They also donate fruit trees to schools, teaching students how to plant and care for their fruit trees as well as the wider importance of protecting the environment.

Protecting Indigenous Forests
Farmers and communities plant quick-growing trees as a source of sustainable timber for the local population. Every tree planted helps protect the natural woodland, allowing for regeneration and preventing deforestation.

About Ripple Africa
Ripple Africa is a charity registered in both the UK and the USA, working to improve the environment and local education in Malawi. The charity was founded in 2003 by Geoff and Liz Furber who both share a passion for Africa, especially northern Malawi. During one particular trip to Malawi, they found their way to the village of Mwaya and fell in love with the area. They decided to buy a property there and, with the combination of their skills and a strong passion for Africa, Ripple Africa was born.
Today, the charity has over 8,000 people working on Ripple Africa projects on the ground and has a tremendous impact on the local communities. Despite the charity’s significant achievements and ambitious scope, Ripple Africa is still small enough that the charity remains home-grown and grassroots based, and it is their intention to keep it that way.
