Monday 27th July '20
+ WCLD and VOLT to be listed on SIX
London, 27 July 2020: WisdomTree the exchange traded fund ("ETF") and exchange traded product ("ETP") sponsor, today announced the listing of WisdomTree Cloud Computing UCITS ETF (WCLD) and WisdomTree Battery Solutions UCITS ETF (VOLT) on SIX, the Swiss Stock Exchange, with a TER of 0.40%.
WCLD and VOLT, listed on 27 July 2020, tap into two of the most prominent megatrends, digital transformation and energy storage technologies.
Christopher Gannatti, Head of Research, Europe, WisdomTree said: “Megatrends are increasingly being seen as important pieces to build into portfolio allocations due to their long-term growth potential. We bring together expert partnerships to create unique, innovative approaches that give investors the potential to access these multi-decade megatrends”.
The WisdomTree Cloud Computing UCITS ETF provides investors with a focused approach to selecting cloud companies and scales the unique expertise of Bessemer Venture Partners in identifying these companies.
WCLD invests in emerging public companies listed on the major US stock exchanges that are primarily involved in providing cloud software and services to their customers. To be eligible for inclusion, companies must derive a majority of revenues from business-oriented software products through a cloud delivery model, deliver attractive revenue growth and meet market capitalization and liquidity requirements.
The WisdomTree Battery Solutions UCITS ETF aims to provide investors with exposure to the growth in the demand for and the usage of energy storage technologies, and in particular batteries.
WisdomTree has developed, in partnership with Wood Mackenzie, an innovative index that captures the battery value chain. The stock selection is informed by Wood Mackenzie market intelligence. To be eligible for inclusion in the index, a security must be involved in one or more of the following parts of the value chain: raw materials, manufacturing, enablers (correlated technologies and complementary solutions) or emerging technologies. The index is both geographically and industrially diverse and was designed to evolve with rapidly developing technology.
Christopher Gannatti concluded: “We have seen strong demand from investors based in Switzerland, since launching our thematic equities range. Listing these ETFs on SIX complements our existing range of products listed on the exchange and demonstrates our commitment to providing Swiss investors with unique exposures across asset classes”.
The WisdomTree thematic equities range listed in Switzerland now comprises of the WisdomTree Cloud Computing UCITS ETF (WCLD), the WisdomTree Battery Solutions UCITS ETF (VOLT) and the WisdomTree Artificial Intelligence UCITS ETF (WTAI).
