WisdomTree lists seven additional ETFs on SIX Swiss Exchange
Tuesday 02nd April '19
WisdomTree, the exchange traded fund ("ETF") and exchange traded product ("ETP") sponsor, today announced that seven additional WisdomTree ETFs have been listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange.
David Abner, Head of WisdomTree Europe, said, "We are pleased to list seven additional ETFs on the SIX exchange, adding to the breadth of our existing offering in Switzerland. In an environment where investors demand more value for their money, where regulations increasingly concern investors best interests, and where fee pressure is growing, we continue to see an increase in demand for ETFs in Switzerland.”
Frank Spiteri, Head of Distribution commented, “We seek to diversify WisdomTree by asset class, geography and investment sector, so I am delighted to see that interest in our commodity and equity ETPs continues to be strong in Switzerland, while we are set to deliver growth in our fixed income and alternative products. Our approach with these cross listed products is to combine the outperformance potential of active management with the benefits of passive management.”
Quality Dividend Growth UCITS ETFs
This family of funds aims to offer investors access to large cap dividend growing companies while applying quality and growth screens. The foundation of the Quality Dividend Growth methodology is centred on measuring earnings growth, profitability and leverage, and by tilting weight toward firms with higher return on earnings (ROE) and return on assets (ROA). The ETFs in this range focus on Global, Eurozone, and US companies.
WisdomTree Artificial Intelligence UCITS ETF
This ETF provides investors with liquid and cost-effective access to this exponential technology megatrend that is driving efficiencies and new business capabilities across all industries globally and redefining the way we live and work. AI is a revolutionary technology and the market for AI products and services is expected to more than triple over the next three years . This fund offers a unique approach to capturing this expected growth, which is the result of a year-long collaboration between WisdomTree, Nasdaq and CTA.
WisdomTree Cboe S&P 500 PutWrite UCITS ETF
The WisdomTree Cboe S&P 500 PutWrite UCITS ETF may be attractive to investors who are seeking to mitigate downside risk within their S&P 500 exposure. The ETF employs an options strategy which includes, on a monthly basis, selling (or “writing”) at-the-money S&P 500 put options and investing the proceeds from that sale in US treasury bills. For assuming the risk of market losses through the put positions, the ETF earns a ‘volatility risk premium’ which can diversify investors’ sources of return and reduce the volatility of equity returns in portfolios. Bringing an option-selling strategy into a physically-backed UCITS format to democratise access across many types of investors, as this is the only PutWrite ETF in Europe.
WisdomTree AT1 CoCo Bond UCITS ETF
The WisdomTree AT1 CoCo Bond UCITS ETF was the first ETF globally to provide investors with access to the Additional Tier 1 (AT1) Contingent Convertible (CoCo) bond market, which is worth over $170 billion in Europe. The fund offers professional investors the opportunity to earn potentially higher yields than investing in senior bank debt, and the opportunity to achieve portfolio diversification and possibly mitigate their fixed income portfolio’s exposure to rising interest rates. CoCos are a form of hybrid debt that are intended to convert into equity or have their principal written down to absorb the issuer’s capital losses upon the occurrence of certain triggers.
WisdomTree Enhanced Commodity UCITS ETF
The Fund tracks the Optimised Roll Commodity Total Return Index (EBCIWTT), a broadly diversified index whose weights are based on the Bloomberg Commodity Index and incorporates a smart roll mechanism, based on the S&P GSCI Dynamic Roll indices, that aims to minimise the potential losses arising from commodity future contracts in contango or to maximise the benefit from contracts in backwardation. This product could be of interest for investors looking for strategies which lower the volatility of commodities exposures that do not focus on managing the risk of shifting futures curves.
A total of 16 WisdomTree strategies are now listed on SIX Swiss Exchange. The newly listed and previously listed ETFs, and share classes are shown below.
